Yes, but...

It's important to do things just because you enjoy doing them. But it's also important to set goals, no matter how much time you have left. 

By the way: my Bioethics course didn't pre-enroll in sufficient numbers, so I requested release time to work on a book. It's been granted. That makes me happy!
