A Random Encounter That Made My Friday

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you all have had a great weekend! I had a recent encounter with a random human that turned my recent Friday around 180 degrees in the direction of happiness. I felt like sharing it with you all and would implore if you have had any encounters of "random acts of happiness" to share with everyone below!

Beginning, after my 9:40 class on Thursday I found that I received a parking ticket from the MTSU campus police. I had had a stressful day, was making up a quiz, and ended up having to park out of my parking color. It was just the icing on the cake to my already sour Thursday, and it was only 12pm! I went to parking services to get my parking pass fixed so as to hopefully not have to go through this incident again. I was angry, frustrated, and overall, probably not a pleasant person to cross paths with at the time! However, the lady who was behind the desk at the parking services looked at me, smiled, and asked how my day was. Her simple smile and asking of my day completely changed my entire mood and day. I had a pleasant experience with her where she helped me through all my questions and problems, and we both said goodbye and went about our day.

I know this story is nothing special or exciting, but this random lady at MTSU parking services truly turned my day around with such simple acts of kindness. I appreciate her and I hope that we all remember what profound effects small acts of kindness can have on people. See you all Tuesday!

  2. Thanks for sharing, Matt. Random acts of kindness really can reverberate. It costs so little to share a smile and a friendly word.
