In your blog post, include bloggish elements (images, videos, hyperlinks to relevant sources).
How long should it be? As long as it takes to say something interesting and important about your topic, to pose and respond to a good discussion question or two, to acknowledge and begin to respond to dissenting views or other perspectives, to share relevant sources (via links, rather than footnotes), etc. You be the judge.

MIDTERM PRESENTATION GRADES: Unless I've indicated otherwise in an email, you earned your twenty points.
I would like to do my final blog on "Happiness...Are We There Yet?", if that's okay with you!
ReplyDeleteGood. But is that the Royal "We"? I don't think any of us can speak for anyone else's happiness. I can be happy even if "we" aren't... depending on the specific reference of the "we," of course.
DeleteMe, Myself and I!!!
DeleteMy final blog post will be titled "The American Fantasy, Our Great Faux Pas."
ReplyDeleteI will pull from Fantasyland as well as two freakonomics podcasts. While this may not line up with the reading, I'm sure to find ways to pull the current readings into my topic as well.
Good. This will give you the opportunity to wonder about the limits of happiness, in the light of "fantasy"... should our happiness square with reality? If believing palpable falsehoods makes me happy, is it okay? (I vote NO.)
DeleteIn my final report I’m going to further develop my midterm presentation topic. I’m going to talk about why the best way to view well-being is through Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. I’ll also talk about why other ways to view well-being aren’t as good or what they lack that Maslow’s hierarchy of needs doesn’t lack.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to do my final report on the stigma behind mania . . . It's supposed to be an exaggerated sort of happiness, but it is prevented in such incessant ways that it is sometimes to the detriment of people who experience it.
ReplyDeleteAs a sequel to my mid-term presentation, I'd like to make a blog post entitled "Believing in Happiness" which will discuss how happiness is understood through the doctrines of different world religions.

ReplyDeleteIn my final report blog post I'm going to further delve into MY OWN idea of happiness and how I intend to incorporate epicurean values into my own lifestyle and just how far I intend to take it. I do however want to elaborate that only following an epicurean lifestyle is not how I intend to live and my final blog post will further explain that.
Delete(sorry, deleted last comment because of typo)
I would like to further develop my mid term presentation
ReplyDeleteI will like to go further with my mid term presentation.
ReplyDeleteI will be expanding upon my midterm presentation, including some pictures from Papaw's life. Additionally, I hope to include a bit of my grandmother's (Mamaw's) philosophy in the report as well. It is only fair, considering how influential she has been in both my life and Papaw's.
ReplyDeletePapaw used to always say, as a slight diversion from the usual mantra, "Behind every great man is a GREATER woman."
